Assuming your findings are correct, this is the kind of thing that needs to be responded to imo. The peer review process is supposed to catch this sort of thing. It may be that the simple disclosure of it was deemed sufficient, and the real problem lies with how the information is then used or selectively cited to support WT policy. Its a nice catch for sure. We need to talk.

Lessons learned from the outcome of bloodless emergency laparotomies on Jehovah’s Witness women
by OrphanCrow inthe wt has promoted bloodless surgery as a viable (and better) alternative to surgery with blood transfusions.. i have found a medical study that has been used to back up these "evidence based" claims.
the title of the article is lessons learned from the outcome of bloodless emergency.
these mostly indigent patients died of peritonitis becauseof delays in payment for antibiotics.

by OrphanCrow inin the june 2016 issue of cmaj, dr. hebert published an article, survival without transfusion is possible but not recommended for all, that critiques dr. aryeh shander's research study outcomes of protocol-driven care of critically ill severely anemic patients for whom blood transfusion is not an option, published in critical care medicine 2016. .

Was not aware of this. I suppose it really should not come as a surprise. Thanks.

How to Fade - The Basics!
by The Searcher inthis really works.
i've already applied the basics of this with one elder who "offered" us a shepherding visit.
we've been totally ignored since!!!

Good advice for sure. Would just add another twist that can be used. If you get into a spat with someone in the congregation, you can always play the "stumbled card". Leave, move to a new hall - preferably 15-20 miles away. Attend briefly, then decide you need to care for personal matters, etc. They will not be inclined to make shepherding calls when they have to drive that far.

JW child first pediatric patient to receive acute normovolemic hemodilution - 1970
by OrphanCrow inacute normovolemic hemodilution.
hemodilution simply refers to the process of diluting the blood with another substance.
there are various ways that this is done before, during and after the surgical process.

Very interesting bit of history, which demonstrates how hard doctors have worked with JWs and the Watchtower to try and save lives. That has certainly pushed the technology forward, but that progress has come at the cost of too many lives as you know. Well done.

Synthetic Blood trial slated for 2017
by Lee Elder inthe u.k. to start trials in a new synthetic blood substitute.
all previous versions have failed to gain regulatory approval, but perhaps this one will offer a way out for jehovah's witnesses.

There is no one with greater personal interest and potential gain from synthetic blood (in practically any form or source) than the Watchtower, and the military, imo.

A JW Father Learns about Blood
by Lee Elder inthis father contacted us a few months ago about his experience with the watchtower's blood policy, and how his daughter nearly died as a result of it.
hopefully, other jw parents can learn from this before the wt policy claims the life of their child.
the wts has very few meaningful interventions or "non blood alternatives" for anemia.

The father has volunteered to speak with other JW parents who have questions or need assistance. We'll have a contact up for him shortly.

This father contacted us a few months ago about his experience with the Watchtower's blood policy, and how his daughter nearly died as a result of it. Hopefully, other JW parents can learn from this before the WT policy claims the life of their child. The WTS has very few meaningful interventions or "non blood alternatives" for anemia. No blood equals no life, because without blood, the body is deprived of oxygen, and death follows.
